What type of projects?
Tank Replacement Programs (TRP) have been completed recently at Shell Australia sites at Fremantle, Heathcote, Keilor, McLaren Vale and Tingalpa; at Caltex Australia sites at Bentley, Carine and Northlands; and at BP Australia’s Braddon site. Often, these projects involve refurbishment of the service station sales office/display area and replacement of the canopy in addition to the replacement of tank & pumps and re-concreting of the forecourt. Coordination of other activities, such as the installation of improved forecourt drainage and/or vapour recovery equipment, can add to the overall complexity while the TRP is being completed.
Pump Replacement Programs are implemented for the major oil companies, as well as the sales and installation of pumps and lines at new retail fuel distribution sites. Recently, Metric was awarded the contract to install pump and dispenser replacements at Caltex Australia sites, nationally. For Pump Replacement Programs, Metric completes the pump installation, all piping, concreting and electrical work, as well as the calibration of pumps prior to commissioning.
Metric is a licensed distributor for PEC Fuel Pumps Ltd and can supply pumps and dispensers to suit a customer’s specific requirements. We are also a licensed distributor for the Nupi Smartflex range of piping products.
Metric was chosen to install ATG equipment at over 320 Shell Australia sites nationally in a project that took place over 2½ years. Again, Metric technicians performed all aspects of the installation, including all civil works, installation of the probes or sensors, electrical wiring and system configuration.
In recent years, Metric has completed the replacement of 400 POS systems for Caltex, 7-Eleven and North Queensland Fuel. Earlier this year, Metric completed the replacement of over 200 PEC 8850 / PCPOS systems with the Retalix POS System at BP Australia’s company owned retail and truck stop sites across Australia. This rollout was completed on time and under budget.
Metric is licensed to distribute and support the Postec Data Systems range of forecourt and wet stock control systems.
Furthermore, Metric has an exclusive Marketing Partnership with Kreative Technology to jointly present a turn-key solution for the provision and support of Point of Sale and Back Office Management systems to the retail fuel industry.
Re-branding project for National Australia Bank that involved replacement of all interior and exterior signage at 560 sites across eastern/southern Australia.
National ‘Safe Roof Access’ and Asbestos Management program for Shell, which involved surveys of each site to specify requirements, visual inspections of the canopy structure to identify any damage, encapsulating/removing asbestos or installation of warning signs, creation of an asbestos register, development of the safe roof access plan and installation of the safe roof access equipment.
All of these projects have been completed by experienced, qualified and accredited technicians, who are committed to delivering a high quality outcome in the safest possible manner. They are supported by managers and supervisors, who have been trained in the use of a project management methodology that is recognised by the Australian Institute of Project Management.
